We use modern clean vehicles that comfortably accommodate up to 6 adults. You can see a selection of the vehicles in the fleet here. These vehicles may be owned or leased by our driver guides. We routinely use the Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE (Luxury) or the Mercedes V-class, but are happy to source a vehicle of different specification if you desire.

We are proud to say we joined Green Tourism in 2017 and were awarded Gold Level staus in 2020. We are very proud that we are the only Scottish Tourist Guides to have been awarded Gold Level status. If you have booked a ‘driver guided’ tour then one of our fully qualified STGA guides will be your driver. We can also arrange for chauffeur driven vehicle plus separate tour guide if you prefer.

Each year we plant trees in our private grove in the Select Scotland Tours Trees For Life Forest in Glen Affric to offset the carbon produced by our vehicles.

We will collect and return you to your hotel or accommodation. We are also happy to pick you up from the airport, railway station or cruise ship if needed.

We believe passionately that successful tourism should benefit both visitors and the local environment. We are all members of the Leave No Trace scheme to minimise any impact on the environment. We are members of Green Tourism and have achieved Gold Award Status. We look to promote local sustainable produce and businesses. We work with our clients to plan our tours to ensure minimal impact on local communities.We participate in a number of local environmental protection schemes including beach cleans, litter picking and reporting fly tipping.

The price will cover the costs of the guide and vehicle. It will not include the cost of meals or refreshments or entrance charges should there be any. It does not include any accommodation costs for extended tours.

We prefer a payment by bank transfer in British pounds. 

Deposit and Payment

• A 25% non-refundable deposit will secure your tour dates. 
• The balance of 75% must be paid no later that 8 weeks prior to the start of the tour.
• If the booking is made within 8 weeks of the start of the tour, the tour must be paid in full at time of booking.

Cancellation Terms

• When notification of the cancellation of a tour is received more than 8 weeks prior to that tour’s start date, Select Scotland Tours will refund the balance of 75% minus a £50 administration fee.
• Where notification of the cancellation has been received by Select Scotland Tours less than 8 weeks prior to the commencement of a tour or service and that tour or service has been paid in full, the following payment and refund schedule applies. 
  • 56-28 days before start: 75% of balance will be refunded, less a £50 administration fee. The non-refundable deposit (25% of tour price) will be retained by Select Scotland Tours.
  • 27-14 days before start: 50% of balance will be refunded, less a £50 administration fee. The non-refundable deposit (25% of tour price) will be retained by Select Scotland Tours.
  • 13-0 days before start: no refund.
• In exceptional circumstances the management of Select Scotland Tours reserves the right (with absolute discretion) to cancel tours or services. In such cases clients will be promptly informed and offered a full refund or an alternative arrangement.

As you can appreciate we may need to turn away other clients to secure your booking. For that reason we request a non-refundable deposit of 25% at time of booking and payment in full 8 weeks prior to start of tour. If you need to change dates, we  will try to accommodate your request but we cannot guarantee that this can be done. Any informations on changes to bookings please see our Terms and Conditions.

Please make us aware of any alleries or intolerances. When making meal reservations it is good practice to advise of particular dietary requirements and when you are holiday it is important to make all restaurant servers aware of same.

Scotland has a maritime climate and we often say you can have ‘four seasons in a day’. We suggest that for your own comfort you bring appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear, especially if you are on a walking tour or on a tour of outdoor locations. We would be happy to recommend appropriate clothing for your tour.

While we are pleased to collect you from the airport at the start of your tour, we do not routinely offer airport transfers. This can often be done through you accommodation provider, however, in our commitment to sustainability and eco-friendliness, we encourage you to explore alternative transport options such as public buses, shuttle services, and train or tram services. These options not only contribute to a greener environment, they are liable to be lower cost and also provide you with a chance to experience the local public transport system.
